I don't know how I'd have made my way through 2020....

When Covid19 lockdown restrictions were introduced, last Spring, Romsey Mill's Pre-School setting at Romsey Mill Centre remained open to offer support to key worker and vulnerable families.

Our team also continued to provide support for those families that did not meet the threshold for places during lockdown, ensuring that they always had food and essential provisions, and maintained contact with them via phone calls to check in and offer support and a familiar friendly voice.

One of the parents shares their experience of the support they received from Romsey Mill during this time:

A Pre-School parent writes:

“My son has been attending Romsey Mill preschool since September 2019 and I have had an overwhelmingly positive experience of the ‘Romsey Mill family’, in my time with them."

"When we were struck, unexpectedly, with the national lockdown in March, the support I continued to receive, was unexpected and an essential part of helping my little family through."

"In the early days, we found ourselves isolating for several weeks. In this time, it was Romsey Mill that made sure that we always had food in and that I always had my regular medication. Not only that, they were always on the end of the phone, supplying emotional support."

"When we were out of isolation, they made it possible for my son to continue to attend preschool. This gave me several things, including a sliver of time to myself, and regular human contact!!"

"I happened across Romsey Mill by pure coincidence, when searching for a nursery placement for my son. I am forever grateful to have discovered the Romsey Mill family, and I can say with my hand on my heart, I do not know how I would have made my way through 2020, and all that it has bought with it, without the support of such a wonderful ‘family’."

"I sincerely hope that I am afforded the ability in the future to be able to give back to Romsey Mill, and help other families in the way that I have been helped by them.”
