John gets on his bike for Romsey Mill

< Back to listing

John Marshall, a long-time friend and supporter of Romsey Mill, now approaching his 71st birthday, is participating in the annual London to Cambridge sponsored Cycle Ride this coming Sunday 26th July. He is going to use the event to help raise funds for the Mill’s work with young people and families.

Starting from Pickett's Lock in north London, John will ride through the countryside and finish at Midsummer Common, Cambridge – a total of 75 miles.

What makes John’s challenge even more impressive is that three years ago he underwent major heart surgery.

He has been actively involved in the work of Romsey Mill for more than 25 years – including a spell as Chairman of Trustees. Now retired, John is still happy to get stuck in and get his hands dirty – and he can often be seen working on the garden at the front of Romsey Mill Centre.

John said “I love the Mill. It’s all about getting to the heart of people’s needs, in a non-judgmental way, doing everything in love and being at the heart of the community. It’s also been a great place for me to put my faith into action.”

Please show you support for John and the work of Romsey Mill either by sponsoring via his JustGiving page -  or contacting Romsey Mill directly: Tel 01223 566492; email: to pledge your donation.

 Thanks for you support.
