Loads of fun for Little Millers

< Back to listing

A special new weekly play session has just started at Romsey Mill Centre, for children aged 4 and under.

The group, which met for the first time at the beginning of May, has already been a big hit with young children and their parents or carers, who have enjoyed fun, play, stories and songs with their new friends.

James Bennett, Romsey Mill’s Programme Manager said: “The new group is part of Romsey Mill’s ongoing commitment to support local families with young children.”

“It is one of the new things that has been made possible thanks to the amazing response from our supporters during our Christmas appeal, following the end of our contract with the County Council to deliver Children’s Centre services.”

Susan Condie, Romsey Mill’s family worker who runs the Little Millers group, said: “The response to the new group has been amazing, with over 20 families attending each week. It is so encouraging hearing the sound of young children having fun and seeing families make new friendships.”

Susan added: “We’d love to see any families wanting to join in the fun. And we’d love to hear from anyone who would like to help and could give a couple of hours of their time, as a volunteer, to help run the sessions, each week.”

Little Millers meets on Tuesday mornings, between 10am and 11.30am, at Romsey Mill Centre.
