Twelve Days of Christmas - a story for the third day...

< Back to listing

Over December, we need your support to raise £12,000 to help young people facing challenges at school, at home or in the community. Together we can give them a fresh start in 2015 - learning new skills, growing in confidence and fulfilling their potential.  Here is a story about how Romsey Mill provides hope, transformation and second chances for young people:

Louis Paul is a 20 year old who has a part-time job as a bar-tender whilst training for the RAF. He contacted Romsey Mill as he wanted to volunteer in his spare time, and was offered the opportunity to help young people who had left secondary school with no qualifications. He worked with a small group studying for a maths qualification – marking their work, explaining concepts and motivating individuals to stick with it, even when they were struggling to understand. Louis Paul says he had developed and improved from this experience, and gained skills that will help him in his career – and the young people he worked with have also learnt a lot from him.
