Salary - £23,620 - £26,357 (pro-rata)*

Hampton is a new community within Peterborough. Currently, it comprises around 20,000 people, increasing to c.25,000 people by 2025. It has a relatively young demographic and is extremely popular with families and young adults.

You will pioneer and develop youth work provision in the Hampton area of Peterborough, supporting ‘hard to reach’ and ‘at risk’ young people (aged 10-21). As part of this role, there is an emphasis on face-to-face community youth work and you will be expected to deliver detached sessions, one-to-one work, young people-led group activities, open access youth clubs, alternative education work and residential experiences.

The role is part-time (18.75 hours per week) working alongside a full-time Youth Development worker in Hampton, however it could be joined with the part-time Christ the Servant King church Youth Development Worker role to create a full-time post.

You will develop youth work provision at Christ the Servant King, offering young people (aged 11-18) opportunities to explore, deepen and express their faith, in keeping with CSK’s values and beliefs. You will build up a team of volunteers to support youth work in CSK, with a strong focus on discipling. The role is part-time (18.75 hours per week), however it could be joined with the part-time Romsey Mill Youth Development Worker role to create a full-time post. The expectation is that the post holder will make CSK their home church and will regularly worship at CSK.

*Applicants can also apply for both part-time roles (i.e. as Youth Development Worker with Romsey Mill  and CSK, Hampton).
