BRIGHTEN A YOUNG PERSON'S FUTURE

DONATE HERE

THANK YOU! YOU HAVE ALREADY HELPED US TO RAISE £20,000 via The Big Give

Throughout the year, Romsey Mill is supporting local young people, children and families with their mental health and wellbeing through our positive, relational youth and family work.

This Christmas, we are seeking to raise £30,000 to help fund that vital work into next year.

Could you partner with us to help ‘brighten a young person’s life’ and make a donation?

Romsey Mill believes that no young person, child or family’s future should be determined by their current situation.

  • 18.0% of children aged 7 to 16 years, and 22.0% of young people aged 17 to 24 years have experienced mental disorder. (Mental Health of Children and Young People in England, 2022)

  • 67% of young people would prefer to access mental health support without going to see their GP. (Young Minds, 2020).

Through Romsey Mill’s relational approach to youth and family work, our experienced youth and family workers offer support for young people and families whose mental health and wellbeing has been impacted by the challenges they are currently facing.

We engage with them, listen, and create safe spaces where young people and  can build relationships of trust and make friends, working with them to create opportunities and develop activities that interest them (e..g. art, sport, music and cooking skills).

The impact of Romsey Mill’s relational youth and family work:

  •         74% of autistic young people said that their mental health challenges had reduced

  •         80% of young parents said that their mental health had improved.

  •         91% of young people we work with said that their youth worker gave them the support they needed

What young people told us:

“It is a safe environment for me and others to get along and do stuff and talk to people. You listen to us.”

“Romsey Mill give me something to look forward to and really got me through some hard times! These people are like a second family to me and I honestly wouldn't be here without them”
