Our Pre-school

Romsey Mill’s Pre-school offers families a small warm, nurturing community where young children learn to explore, play and develop. Children can attend the Pre-school aged 2 to 4 years.

Children are left in the care of qualified, dedicated, and experienced early years practitioners. Our setting, at Romsey Mill Centre, adheres to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We create a range of play-based activities that enable children to make progress across areas of learning and development that include:

  •  Communication & language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

We are child centered in our approach and focus on the development of each individual through play and exploration. We seek to equip and nurture children so that they can thrive and make the best possible transitions to primary school.

All children are allocated a key worker, who gets to know them well and works closely with parents/carers to offer individual support, as well as doing some focused activities in key groups to encourage and further extend their development.

Our setting, at Romsey Mill Centre, has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. (Please click on the setting below to read the latest reports)
